The short answer

Hard Rock Bet is the sportsbook that held the best price most often in LineGoat's scan as of October 2026. Hard Rock Bet had the top price on 7 of the 24 +EV candidates LineGoat published between Oct 16 and Oct 25, 2026. Bally Bet was second with 4. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetRivers and theScore Bet had 3 each, BetMGM had 1, and Caesars and Fanatics had 0.

No single sportsbook has the best odds every time. Seven different books held the top price across those 24 candidates. The practical answer for a bettor is to hold accounts at more than one legal book in your state and compare prices before you bet. That habit is called line shopping.

24 candidates is a small sample. One busy college football Saturday can move these counts a lot, and we say where it already has. We refresh this page every month as the tracker grows.

Ranked October 2026

The ranking counts how often each sportsbook had the single best price on a candidate The Goat published. Ties on count are broken by how many of those candidates made the tracked top three on the daily board, then by average EV.

EV is the scan's estimate of expected value against Pinnacle's no-vig fair price at the time of the scan. It is a math estimate, not a pick or a guarantee. Pinnacle lines are used only as a sharp reference price; LineGoat doesn't promote betting at Pinnacle.

Why each book landed where it did

1. Hard Rock Bet (7). Hard Rock Bet held the best price on 7 candidates over 5 different scan days, and 6 of the 7 were college football moneylines (Georgia State, Eastern Michigan and San Diego State on Oct 16, Penn State on Oct 17, Sam Houston State on Oct 21, Iowa State on Oct 24). The seventh was the Clippers moneyline on Oct 23. Hard Rock Bet ranks first on count, but most of that count comes from one sport. If the scan had covered fewer college football Saturdays, Hard Rock Bet's lead would be smaller. In Florida, Hard Rock Bet is offered by the Seminole Tribe, and the state's gaming regulator says online sports bets there are legal only through sportsbooks operated by or in conjunction with the Tribe.

2. Bally Bet (4). Bally Bet had the best price on 4 candidates across three sports (NHL twice, NBA and college football once each) and on 4 different days. Two of them were the Edge of the Day (Sharks on Oct 20, Wizards on Oct 23). Bally Bet's average EV on those 4 was +2.5%, second-lowest in the table after BetMGM's single candidate (+2.4%), so its wins on price were usually small. Bally Bet operates in fewer states than the national books.

3. DraftKings (3). DraftKings had 3 candidates, and all 3 made the tracked top three. Two of those were NFL candidates on Oct 25 (Giants moneyline at +400, Lions -3.5 at +100), and one was the Wizards -4.5 on Oct 21. DraftKings beats FanDuel on the tiebreak because all 3 of its candidates were tracked.

4. FanDuel (3). FanDuel's 3 candidates were all NBA moneylines on one night, Oct 24 (Pelicans, Warriors, Mavericks). FanDuel had the highest average EV in the table at +5.6%, but one evening produced the whole count.

5. BetRivers (3). BetRivers had 3 candidates spread over 3 scan days (California on Oct 16, Magic on Oct 23, Minnesota on Oct 24). One made the tracked top three. BetRivers ranks above theScore Bet on average EV (+3.5% vs +2.9%), because both had 3 candidates and 1 in the tracked top three.

6. theScore Bet (3). theScore Bet had 3 candidates (Kentucky on Oct 16, Old Dominion and Bucks on Oct 24). theScore Bet was called ESPN BET until PENN Entertainment rebranded it on Dec 1, 2025, and accounts carried over.

7. BetMGM (1). BetMGM had the best price once: Devils +1.5 at -225 on Oct 17.

8. Caesars and Fanatics (0). Neither Caesars nor Fanatics held the best price on any of the 24 candidates. That doesn't mean their prices are bad. It means that on the specific games and sides where a +EV price existed, another book in our scan was at least as good. In a tie, the scan keeps whichever book came first in the data feed, so a book that matched the top price can still show 0 here.

How we counted

  1. Get a sharp price. Each morning around 7:00am Arizona time, The Goat pulls Pinnacle's moneyline and spread prices for up to three sports (NFL, NBA, college football, NHL or MLB, whichever are in season) for games in the next 28 hours.
  2. Remove the vig. Pinnacle's two prices are turned into a no-vig fair price (multiplicative devig). How no-vig fair odds work.
  3. Find the best US price. The scan compares the same side at the same line across nine US sportsbooks: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, BetRivers, theScore Bet, Hard Rock Bet and Bally Bet. Prices older than 90 minutes are skipped.
  4. Keep the +EV ones. A side is published only if the best US price is between 1% and 12% EV against the fair price, and between -400 and +500.
  5. Count the book. This page counts the book that held that best price on every published candidate, from the Edge Tracker data.

What this count leaves out: player props, totals, live betting, and any book outside the nine. It measures price at scan time only. Lines move after 7:00am, so a book that led at the scan may not lead an hour later.

What the best price does and doesn't tell you

The best price tells you where a bet costs the least. It doesn't tell you whether the bet wins. Results from these same candidates are on the Edge Tracker, wins and losses alike, along with closing line value for the top three each day. Results swing a lot in small samples. A +EV bet still loses often.

Sportsbooks can also limit accounts that regularly take their best prices. We don't have data on how often that happens at each book, so this page doesn't rank books on it.

Who should do what

  • If you're in Florida: online sports betting is legal only through sportsbooks run by or with the Seminole Tribe, which offers Hard Rock Bet, so there's little or no room to line shop there.
  • If you're in a state with Hard Rock Bet or Bally Bet: those two smaller books held the top price on 11 of our 24 candidates. Compare them against the national books before you bet.
  • If you only use one of DraftKings, FanDuel or BetMGM: each one led on 3 or fewer candidates here. Checking a second legal book costs nothing but a minute.
  • If you want to do this yourself: a free odds screen shows several books side by side. Our ranking of the free options is on Best free odds screen for +EV betting.

FAQ

Which sportsbook has the best odds?

No single sportsbook has the best odds on every game. In LineGoat's scan from Oct 16 to Oct 25, 2026, Hard Rock Bet held the best price on 7 of 24 +EV candidates, Bally Bet on 4, and five other books on 1 to 3 each.

Is Hard Rock Bet legal in my state?

Hard Rock Bet lists 10 states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia (Hard Rock Bet help center, checked Oct 25, 2026). You must be 21+ and physically in one of those states to bet.

Is theScore Bet the same sportsbook as ESPN BET?

Yes. PENN Entertainment rebranded ESPN BET to theScore Bet on Dec 1, 2025, and existing accounts moved over unchanged.

Does the book with the best price win more often?

No. Price and result are separate. A better price lowers what each bet costs over many bets. Every result is logged on the Edge Tracker.

How often is this ranking updated?

Once a month, from the Edge Tracker data. The next refresh is planned for November 2026.

Does LineGoat get paid by these sportsbooks?

No. LineGoat has no sportsbook affiliate deals, and this page has no affiliate links.
