Edge Tracker open data

Every edge LineGoat's scan has published, with its price, Pinnacle's fair odds, the graded result and closing line value, in one file you can download. It's the same data that powers the Edge Tracker, it updates every morning, and nothing is ever removed, losses included.

Download

  • CSV: linegoat.com/tracker/data.csv. One row per published edge, newest scan first, UTF-8, comma-separated, with a header row.
  • JSON: linegoat.com/api/tracker. The same rows (the newest 1,000) plus per-desk totals.
  • Updates: after each daily scan and grading (about 7:00am Arizona time), plus closing lines for tracked edges shortly before each game starts. The file is read live from our database, but a copy you downloaded or opened earlier may be cached by your browser for up to a few hours, so do a fresh download if a row looks out of date.

What each column means

ColumnMeaning
scan_dateDate of the morning scan that first published the edge (the scan runs at about 7:00am Arizona time). A repeat sighting on a later day does not add a new row.
sportNFL, NBA, NCAAF (college football), NHL or MLB.
deskThe LineGoat desk the edge is filed under: goat (The Goat, every sport), nfl or nba.
eventThe game, written "Away @ Home".
commenceScheduled start time, ISO 8601 in UTC.
marketh2h = moneyline, spreads = point spread. Pregame only.
selectionThe side the edge is on, with the spread number for spreads (for example "New Jersey Devils +1.5").
best_bookThe US sportsbook with the best price at scan time, out of the nine we check.
best_priceThat price, in American odds. This is the published price every result is graded at.
fair_oddsPinnacle's no-vig fair odds for the selection at scan time, in American odds (multiplicative devig).
evExpected value of the published price against the fair odds, in percent. Edges run from 1% to 12% by rule.
rankPosition on The Goat's board that day (1 = Edge of the Day). Blank for edges listed only on a sport desk.
is_edge_of_day1 if the edge was that day's Edge of the Day, else 0.
tracked1 if closing line value was tracked (the top three on The Goat's board each day), else 0.
close_fair_oddsPinnacle's no-vig closing odds for the selection, captured shortly before the scheduled start (usually 5 to 20 minutes before). Blank if not tracked or not yet closed.
clvClosing line value in percent: closing fair probability × published decimal odds − 1. Blank if not tracked or not computable.
close_noteWhy CLV is blank on a tracked edge, for example "line moved to +4" or "no closing line".
resultwin, loss, push or void. Blank means pending (the game has not been graded yet).
profitUnits won or lost at a flat 1-unit stake at the published price. Win at +125 = 1.25, loss = -1, push or void = 0.
home_scoreFinal home score used for grading.
away_scoreFinal away score used for grading.

How the data is made

No person picks or edits these rows. Each morning at about 7:00am Arizona time, LineGoat's scan first grades finished games, then looks at pregame moneylines and spreads for up to three sports with games starting 10 minutes to 28 hours later.

  1. Fair odds. It takes Pinnacle's two-sided price and removes the vig with the multiplicative method: each side's implied probability divided by the sum of both.
  2. Best price. It finds the best price for the same bet at nine US sportsbooks: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, BetRivers, ESPN BET, Hard Rock Bet and Bally Bet. A book's market is skipped if it wasn't updated in the 90 minutes before the scan.
  3. Edge. If the best price is between -400 and +500 and its expected value against the fair odds is between 1% and 12%, it's an edge. The biggest one is Edge of the Day, and every published edge becomes a row here.
  4. Grading. An edge is graded from the final score once its game started more than 3.5 hours earlier, at a flat 1 unit and the published price. Spreads that land exactly on the number are a push. If no final score turns up within 4 days, it's graded void.
  5. Closing line value. For the top three edges on The Goat's board each day, a check runs every 15 minutes and captures Pinnacle's price shortly before the scheduled start. That close is devigged the same way, and CLV is the closing fair probability times the published decimal odds, minus 1.

Each bet is logged once per game, market and selection. If a later scan finds the same bet again, the existing row keeps its first price and date. On Oct 17 we merged three ungraded duplicate rows that were logged before this rule was in place. The full step-by-step method, with worked examples, is on How Edge of the Day works.

Known limits

  • The sample is small. The log only started on Oct 16, 2026. A small number of bets can't show skill or luck either way, and wins and losses are much noisier than CLV. Check the live count on the Edge Tracker before drawing conclusions.
  • Prices are from scan time. Lines move, a price can be gone minutes after the scan, and books may limit accounts. The data doesn't show whether a bettor could have gotten the price.
  • Fair odds come from one book. Pinnacle's price is treated as the best estimate of the true odds, not the truth. The multiplicative devig gives underdogs a slightly higher fair probability than additive, power or Shin methods, so the scan can rank longshots higher than those methods would.
  • CLV covers only the top three a day. Other rows show tracked = 0 and a blank CLV.
  • Coverage is narrow. Pregame moneylines and spreads only, nine US books, and at most three sports a day. No totals, props or live bets. A book may not operate in your state.
