A free sports betting toolkit is a set of free tools that covers four jobs:

  • an odds screen to compare prices;
  • a no-vig calculator to find fair odds;
  • a bet tracker to record results;
  • a way to follow line moves.

Three of the four jobs have free options in LineGoat's directory. Line-move alerts are the gap. Every alert tool we checked puts alerts behind a paid plan, so the free version is checking prices by hand.

This page is organized by job, not ranked. We checked the prices and free tiers below on each tool's own site on October 17, 2026 (Arizona time). Trial terms are quoted per the vendor's site as of Oct 17, 2026; check current terms. Free tiers change, so confirm on the tool's site before you rely on one.

Tools help you compare prices and keep records. They don't make a bet win, and no toolkit promises a profit.

"No price shown" means the tool's site didn't list a price when we checked. None of the tools in this table has a LineGoat affiliate link as of October 17, 2026. LineGoat's disclosure, which applies wherever affiliate links appear on the site: Affiliate links: LineGoat earns a commission if you subscribe through them, at no extra cost to you. It never changes our prices, rankings or picks.

Job 1: An odds screen

An odds screen shows the same bet at several sportsbooks side by side, so you can take the highest price on offer. A better price on the same bet raises the payout if it wins and lowers the break-even probability.

Free options in LineGoat's directory:

  • Locktopus has a free plan with an odds screen across every book Locktopus covers. The Locktopus free plan doesn't include the +EV, arbitrage or line-movement tools. Those are on paid plans: Basic $20/mo ($180/yr), Pro $40/mo ($360/yr), Sharp $99/mo ($890/yr), per the vendor's site as of Oct 17, 2026; check current terms.
  • DawBets includes price comparison on the DawBets free plan. Every DawBets tool is available, but the free plan counts each bet you see and stops at 100 a week.
  • Devig Sports has a free Line Compare page. Line Compare lines up prices for the same bet, but you enter the prices yourself. Devig Sports says it connects no live odds feeds, so Line Compare is a manual check, not a live screen.

Check that an odds screen covers the sportsbooks available in your state. A better price at a book you can't use doesn't help.

Job 2: A no-vig calculator

A no-vig calculator removes the sportsbook's margin from a two-way market and gives the fair odds. Bettors compare a sportsbook's price with the fair odds to judge whether a price is +EV. LineGoat walks through the math step by step on How Edge of the Day removes the vig.

Free options:

  • Devig Sports is 100% free with no sign-up. Devig Sports calculators handle 2-way to 4-way markets and player props, with several devig methods, including multiplicative, additive, power and Shin.
  • Crazy Ninja Odds has a devigger plus hedge and promo calculators. Crazy Ninja Odds says the site is a work in progress and that its calculators are still hosted on an older site.
  • Locktopus includes a Vig Remover and Odds Converter on the Locktopus free plan.
  • DawBets offers standalone EV, Kelly and devig calculators with no sign-up.
  • The no-vig calculator on FreeBettingTools uses the same multiplicative method as LineGoat's scan. FreeBettingTools has the same owners as LineGoat.

If you'd rather not run the numbers, LineGoat's free Edge of the Day does the comparison once a day. Our scan compares Pinnacle's no-vig fair odds with the best price at nine US sportsbooks.

Job 3: A bet tracker

A bet tracker records every bet with its price and result, so you can see your real record instead of the one you remember. A tracker that also records closing line value (CLV) shows whether your prices beat the closing line. CLV is a long-run signal, not a promise. See What is closing line value?

Free options:

  • Pikkit is a free app that syncs bets from your sportsbooks. Pikkit doesn't support manual bet entry. CLV analysis is in Pikkit Pro ($29.99/mo or $199.99/yr).
  • DawBets says "Tracking is always free," and tracked bets don't count against the free plan's weekly limit. DawBets tracking includes ROI and CLV.
  • Devig Sports has a free My Bets page that stores bets, bankroll and CLV on your own device.
  • Action Network lists personal bet tracking on the free ACTION tier. PRO adds custom bet tracking.

LineGoat's Edge Tracker is a different thing. The Edge Tracker is the public record of every edge LineGoat publishes, with results and, for the top three each day, CLV. It isn't a place to log your own bets.

Job 4: Line-move alerts

Line-move alerts tell you when a price changes, so you can act before the market moves further. None of the tools featured here offers free line-move alerts.

  • Free, by hand: check the same game on a free odds screen (Locktopus or DawBets) when you first look and again closer to start time. Log the price you took in a free tracker that records CLV (Devig Sports My Bets or DawBets). The tracker shows how far the line moved after your bet. It doesn't send an alert.
  • Paid:
    • Pikkit Pro has odds alerts and market-open alerts ($29.99/mo or $199.99/yr).
    • Action Network PRO lists PRO line alerts ($24.99/mo, $14.99/wk or $99.99/yr).
    • Locktopus puts line movements and CLV tracking on its Pro plan ($40/mo or $360/yr) and Sharp plan ($99/mo or $890/yr), per the vendor's site as of Oct 17, 2026; check current terms.
    • BetQL lists Line Movement in its site menu and publishes no free plan. BetQL plans start at $19.99/mo, or $59.99/yr billed annually.
  • Not line alerts: the DawBets free plan includes push alerts, but they fire when a high +EV bet appears, not when a line moves. Each alerted bet counts toward the 100-a-week limit. The Action Network free tier has pick and game alerts, and its line alerts are PRO-only.

Where LineGoat fits

LineGoat's own tools are free with no sign-up:

  • Edge of the Day: one +EV bet a day from LineGoat's automated scan, with the math. Our scan covers nine US books, moneylines and spreads only, once a day. Edge of the Day is a short daily list, not a live odds screen.
  • Edge Tracker: every published edge with its result and, for the top three each day, CLV. Nothing gets deleted.
  • Guides: How Edge of the Day works and What is closing line value?
  • Tools directory: every tool in this guide, plus paid tools, with prices and the date we checked them.

A simple free setup

  1. Pick one odds screen that covers the books in your state.
  2. Keep one no-vig calculator open for checking prices against a sharp line.
  3. Connect or start one bet tracker and log every bet, including the losers.
  4. Check line movement by hand on your odds screen until you decide whether a paid alert tool is worth it.

Set a budget and a time limit before you bet. Free tools don't change the math of a single bet, and short-term results swing a lot.

FAQ

What tools do you need for sports betting?

A basic sports betting toolkit covers four jobs: an odds screen, a no-vig calculator, a bet tracker and a way to follow line moves. Free options exist for the first three in LineGoat's directory.

Is there a free odds screen?

Yes. Locktopus has a free plan with an odds screen, and DawBets includes price comparison on a free plan capped at 100 bets seen per week. Devig Sports Line Compare is free, but you enter the prices yourself.

Is there a free no-vig calculator?

Yes. Devig Sports is 100% free with no sign-up, and Crazy Ninja Odds, Locktopus and DawBets also offer free devig calculators.

Which free bet tracker should I use?

LineGoat doesn't rank trackers. Pikkit's free app syncs bets from sportsbooks, DawBets tracks bets for free with ROI and CLV, and Devig Sports stores bets on your device.

Are there free line-move alerts?

Not among the tools LineGoat featured, checked October 17, 2026. Pikkit Pro, Action Network PRO and Locktopus Pro put alerts or line movement behind paid plans, and BetQL has no free plan. The free option is checking prices by hand on a free odds screen.

Do free betting tools help you win?

No tool makes a bet win. Odds screens and calculators help you get better prices and keep honest records, and results still swing a lot in the short run.
